8 Crucial Tips For A Landscaping Business

8 TIPS FOR SUCCESS!!!

A landscaping business is something that just about every town has at least one of.  And If you are (or wanting to be) can be a nice business venture .his does take hard work and attention to some smaller details.

1. Get Your Name Out Name Out There!!

Getting your brand name out to as many people as possible is important to gaining new clients. But how do you do this? Well THERE ARE MANy ways to go about it. for one advertising on social media is one of the easiest and cost effective ways. Simply posting quality pictures on facebook can prove to make all the difference in an upstart company.  branding the vehicles and equipment can take some money to do but is well worth it. if people see your crew driving around in trucks that have your logo on it, they might have a more positive opinion. also having shirts and hats for you and your employees can get your name out there. the last and easiest way to get more business is word of mouth. If work is done to the level that the customer desires, they will then tell their friends and neighbors how well of a job you did!

2. Get Commercial Equipment

Commercial equipment is a great step in the right direction. It can be done without it but residential equipment can't take as much wear and tear. Think of it as having a garden shovel to dig a hole. It can get it done but a regular sized shovel is more practical. The Hustler raptor xdx  would do a fine job but compared to a fastrak or x-one it does not match up.

3. Set Your Schedule But Stay Busy

Congrats! You're the boss and get to make your own schedule! This is where you have to stay diligent though, if you don't work you don't get paid. also people will not refer you if you always push people back on the schedule. having a good name in your area is very important so be sure to stay busy and treat customers with respect.

4. Find The Right Price

finding the right price is important for not only you, but as well as the customers! If your price is too high then nobody will want your services. if the price is too low then everybody will want you, but then there won't be enough money to pay you or your employees.  check with other landscaping companies in your area to find out what a reasonable fee would be!

5. Find Out What Your Specialty Is

In landscaping there are many options for your business to succeed.  You can mow, do flowerbeds, tree removal, trim bushes, lay sod, spraying, or even do design. the key is to pick a couple of these and become the expert and make sure your employees know just as much that way they can perform at their highest level.

6. Off Season Plans

Staying busy in the off season can help supplement your income nicely. Also it keeps employees around so they have a full time job! One of the easiest and financially successful things to do in between the seasons is Christmas light installation! If you buy the lights then you can store them year round and have customers that come back to you every year!

7. Be Personal With Your Employees

having a good relationship with employees will go far. The employees will want to come to work, and many people will want to come apply as well! They will not quit as much so you'll have good employees that care about the company!

8. Maintain Your Equipment

Maintaining equipment is the number one money saver. If it is not kept up with then your machines can break down. You can do the maintenance yourself or take it into a mower shop such as M&D!

If you follow these 8 steps then it can help grow your landscaping business can grow like the grass you take care of! For more questions on these tips call 580-886-2345!
